The 2025 Audi RS Q8 Performance has stormed onto the scene, establishing itself as the brand’s most powerful gas-powered vehicle and the fastest SUV around the iconic Nürburgring. With last year’s updates to the Q8 and SQ8, Audi has now completed the lineup by introducing the upgraded RS Q8, including a new Performance variant. This addition joins the ranks of Audi’s other high-performance RS models, such as the Rs3,RS4, RS5, RS6, and RS7.

Unmatched Power and Performance

Under the hood, the RS Q8 Performance boasts a formidable 631 horsepower, making it the most powerful gasoline model from Audi’s stable, surpassing even the discontinued R8’s V-10 engine. The SUV’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine delivers a staggering 627 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 190 mph. This remarkable power has enabled Audi to trim nearly six seconds off the previous RS Q8’s Nürburgring lap time, with racing driver Frank Stippler, the same driver to score a record run with the new Audi RS3, clocking in at 7 minutes and 36.69 seconds, dethroning the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT.

Regular vs. Performance Models

Audi continues to offer the standard RS Q8, featuring a slightly detuned version of the V-8 engine, producing 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Despite the reduced output, the regular RS Q8 remains impressively quick, achieving 0 to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph, with options to increase this limit to 174 mph or 190 mph.

Aggressive Styling and Advanced Features

Both RS Q8 models inherit last year’s design enhancements, including a more aggressive honeycomb front grille and enlarged air intakes. The Performance model is distinguished by a new, lighter exhaust system that produces a deeper sound. Optional RS sport exhaust further amplifies the auditory experience. Other exterior features include matrix LED headlights with laser high-beam, customizable OLED taillights, and the option for striking matte gold 23-inch wheels with 295/35 tires. High-performance ceramic brakes are available, featuring 440-mm front and 370-mm rear discs.

Luxurious Interior and Cutting-Edge Technology

Inside, the RS Q8 models come with perforated sport seats adorned with honeycomb stitching and a steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara. Audi also utilizes microfiber from recycled bottles for the gear selector and other interior elements. Comfort is enhanced by the standard adaptive air suspension, capable of adjusting the ride height by up to 3.5 inches, and features like electromechanical active roll stabilization and rear-wheel steering.

Pricing and Availability

While US pricing has yet to be announced, the RS Q8 is priced at €141,900 in Germany, with the Performance model starting at €155,700. European customers can place their orders starting June 27.

The 2025 Audi RS Q8 Performance sets a new standard for SUV performance, blending extraordinary power, speed, and luxury. Whether you opt for the standard or the Performance variant, the RS Q8 promises an exhilarating driving experience that stands out in the high-performance SUV segment.
