The 2025 BMW 2 Series marks the first refresh of this generation, featuring enhanced technology, a redesigned center stack, and subtle design adjustments.

Additionally, the M240i variant showcases new “M” badges on the front fenders and lower front opening. BMW also offers new 19-inch wheel designs and a new M Sport Professional Package, combining several Shadowline options.

Powertrains

The powertrains for both the 230i and M240i remain unchanged. The 230i features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The M240i comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine, delivering 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Both models are available with rear-wheel drive or xDrive all-wheel drive, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Interior Enhancements

Inside, the 2025 2 Series sports a new center stack design that incorporates BMW’s latest air vent design, reducing the number of physical buttons and controls. Above the stack is an upgraded infotainment system, now running on iDrive 8.5, a significant improvement over iDrive 8. Enhanced ambient lighting with nine color options adds a stylish touch.

The 230i features a new two-spoke steering wheel with a polygonal rim, while the M240i and 230i with the M Sport Package come with a new flat-bottom steering wheel with a red center marker and M tricolor stitching. A new Tacora Red interior color and two new open-pore wood trim options are also available.

Pricing

The updated 2025 BMW 2 Series models see a price increase, partly due to a higher destination charge.

  • 230i: $40,375
  • 230i xDrive: $43,375
  • M240i: $51,275
  • M240i xDrive: $53,274

2025 BMW M2: More Power and New Features

The 2025 BMW M2 receives its first major update since its 2023 debut, with increased power, expanded color options, and upgraded technology.

Enhanced Performance

The 2025 M2 sees a power increase from its 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine. The manual transmission version now produces 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, a 20-horsepower increase. The automatic transmission version offers the same horsepower but with a higher torque of 443 pound-feet. Both variants shave 0.1 seconds off their 0-60 mph times, with the manual at 4.1 seconds and the automatic at 3.9 seconds. BMW has also re-tuned the throttle for quicker response.

Expanded Color Palette

The exterior color options for the 2025 M2 have significantly increased. New shades include:

  • Java Green Metallic
  • Voodoo Blue
  • Grigio Telesto Pearl Effect Metallic
  • Twilight Purple Pearl Effect Metallic
  • Sao Paulo Yellow
  • Vegas Red Metallic
  • Portimao Blue Metallic
  • Skyscraper Grey Metallic

A new bright silver finish wheel option joins the existing black and bi-color choices. The M2 now features black badging with a silver border and standard black exhaust tips.

Interior Upgrades

Inside, the M2 offers a new flat-bottom steering wheel available in leather or Alcantara, both with optional heating. A new Black Vernasca leather seat option with red highlights joins the lineup, while the M Carbon bucket seats remain available. The center console gets minor updates, including new air vent adjustment controls and M Fine Brushed Aluminum trim as the new standard.

Technology and Pricing

The 2025 M2 upgrades to iDrive 8.5, enhancing usability. It introduces Live Cockpit Professional with augmented navigation, displaying animated arrows on the road through a camera feed.

The new base price for the 2025 M2 is $66,075, including the $1,175 destination charge, representing a $1,880 increase over the 2024 model. BMW plans to release the updated M2 in August this year.
