Automobili Lamborghini has unveiled an innovative concept called Telemetry X at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 in Las Vegas. This concept introduces a cutting-edge ‘track connectivity’ system designed to enhance the track-driving experience for future Lamborghini super sports cars produced in Sant’Agata Bolognese.

Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation, citing recent groundbreaking releases such as the Revuelto super sports car and the Lanzador fully-electric concept car. He emphasized that Lamborghini’s upcoming supercars aim to provide not only thrills but truly immersive driving experiences, with Telemetry X serving as a glimpse into the connected services customers can expect in the coming years.

Telemetry X integrates racing-derived digital technologies, building on the foundation laid by the Huracán STO in 2020 – the first Lamborghini super sports car equipped with a telemetry system accessible via the Unica app. The new system, developed in collaboration with Accenture, comprises three key components: the Real Time Remote Garage (remote coaching), the Biometric Data System, and the Digital Co-Pilot.

The Remote Garage is a web application leveraging 5G technology, enabling drivers to access real-time video recordings of their on-track performance and telemetry. Coaches, located anywhere in the world, can monitor live images and data, providing immediate feedback and suggestions during driving sessions. This approach aims to enhance the overall track experience and improve the driver’s performance in real-time.

The Biometric Data System captures specific biometric data, including heart rate and stress levels, to offer comprehensive performance monitoring. This data provides valuable insights for drivers to refine their training and optimize their on-track performance.

The Digital Co-Pilot serves as a proactive voice assistant, analyzing both biometric and vehicle data to provide feedback to the pilot while driving on the track. It evaluates lap times, offers guidance on improving racing lines and braking points, and provides information on the car’s performance during the track session.

Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer, emphasized that Telemetry X demonstrates how lessons learned in motorsport can be applied to road-going super sports cars. The technology aims to maximize the customer’s track experience while introducing breakthrough technologies, with the Revuelto serving as the testbed for this technological demonstrator.

Ultimately, Telemetry X represents Lamborghini’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in the automotive industry. By integrating advanced technologies, the company seeks to provide a holistic and immersive track-driving experience for its customers in the future.
