Kia is gearing up to make a splash in the electric vehicle world with its highly anticipated 2024 Kia EV9, a three-row electric crossover. The company has now officially revealed that the starting price for this eco-friendly marvel will be $56,265, which includes the destination charges. This exciting news comes as the EV9 is scheduled to hit the market in the fourth quarter of 2023.

When the 2024 Kia EV9 makes its debut, customers will have a choice of five different trims to choose from: Light, Light Long Range, Wind, Land, and GT-Line. The price tag mentioned above is specifically for the base “Light” model. This entry-level version comes equipped with a 76.1-kilowatt-hour battery pack that powers a single 215-horsepower motor located on the rear axle. This configuration offers an estimated driving range of 223 miles and decent performance, with the EV9 accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 7.7 seconds.

The standard features on the “Light” trim are far from ordinary. They include a sophisticated infotainment system featuring dual 12.3-inch screens, seamless integration of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, convenient wireless device charging, Kia’s innovative Digital Key smartphone access system, and a comprehensive suite of safety equipment. Underneath it all, the EV9 is built on Kia’s advanced E-GMP architecture, known for its 800-volt DC fast charging capability, which can recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in less than 25 minutes.

While Kia has provided pricing details for the base “Light” model, they have yet to disclose the pricing for the other trims in the EV9 lineup. However, it’s expected that the “Light Long Range” variant, positioned one step above the base model, will be a popular choice among buyers seeking a balance between range and affordability. This version features a larger 99.8-kWh battery, nearly one-third larger than the standard “Light,” which provides a significant boost in driving range, pushing it to an impressive 300 miles. However, this extra range comes at a slight trade-off in power, with the motor producing 201 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 8.8 seconds.

For those seeking exhilarating performance, the top-of-the-line GT-Line trim is where the action is. Equipped with all-wheel drive, this variant boasts a robust 379 horsepower and a substantial 516 lb-ft of torque. While the estimated range is slightly reduced at 243 miles, the GT-Line makes up for it with a remarkable 0-60 mph acceleration time of just 5.0 seconds.

Kia enthusiasts and potential buyers can anticipate further pricing announcements for the remaining EV9 trims as the new crossover gets closer to its launch before the end of the year. With its diverse trim options, impressive features, and competitive pricing, the 2024 Kia EV9 is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market.
