The iconic white 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach from The Wolf of Wall Street is going up for auction at RM Sotheby’s Luxury Week on December 8, 2023. This rare car, featured prominently in the movie, is estimated to be worth over two million dollars. Only 23 of these Countachs were finished in Bianco Polo, and it is considered one of the fastest versions, reaching 60 mph in 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 183 mph. Moreover, the movie example is said to be one of 12 US-spec versions painted Bianco Polo.
The Countach’s styling updates were undertaken by Horacio Pagani, who later founded Pagani Automobili. While some found it controversial, its performance was beyond reproach. In the movie, the car plays a memorable role in a scene involving Jordan Belfort, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, wrecking it in a heavily intoxicated state.

Gord Duff, Global Head of Auctions, RM Sotheby’s, said of the vehicle and auction, “The ‘Wolf’ Countach, along with the other cars that will be on offer, perfectly embodies what we set out to accomplish when we decided to host a sale during Sotheby’s Luxury Week. Scorsese, DiCaprio, Lamborghini, and New York—all make for an incredible pedigree. The sale will feature other similar cars—unique, highly collectible, with a degree of provenance, low mileage, or one-off specifications. Our team has a great track record of curating boutique sales such as this, and we look forward to showcasing this during Luxury Week.”
The wrecked Countach’s origins are subject to speculation, with some saying it was a genuine 25th Anniversary edition, while others believe it might have been a modified version. Nevertheless, the undamaged car, chassis KLA12722, will take center stage at the auction in New York. This Countach has become a symbol intertwining the legacies of Lamborghini and Hollywood, capturing the imagination of multiple generations. It will be interesting to see what it will bring.
