Building upon the success of its predecessor, the 2024 GX delivers to offer technology, luxurious comfort, and exceptional off-road capability that Lexus customers have come to expect. Not to mention, the unsurpassed quality and reliability that previous generation Lexus GX owners have enjoyed for decades.
For powertrains, the new Lexus GX gets the twin-turbocharged 3.4L V6 engine paired with a 10-speed Direct Shift Automatic Transmission. The engine produces 349 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. of torque. The towing capacity has increased to 8,000 lbs. for Premium, Premium+, and Overtrail grades equipped with the standard tow hitch. Lexus says there will be a hybrid powertrain available at a later date.
The 2024 GX showcases a new aggressive exterior design that makes it appear more rugged. Lexus designers sought to convey the off-road functionality of a true body-on-frame SUV while envisioning GX owners having the capability of enjoying outdoor experiences.
Many will take first notice to the boxy and chiseled body lines, in addition to a nearly flat front windshield, which looks to pay homage to competitors in the rugged off-roading body-on-frame SUV landscape. In a way, the new Lexus GX looks unique in its own right with its upright stature yet a larger presence over the outgoing GX.
While the new GX features a square-body profile with a horizontal design motif, it will still cater to the luxury side of things with several Lexus branding touches. The front continues the Lexus spindle body concept, characterized by a bold design that signifies its off-roading capabilities. The wider track, fender flares, and pulled-back front pillar base contribute to the GX’s grounded and stable stance. The Premium Triple Beam LED headlamps and raised grille opening provide improved visibility, while the decreased front overhang enhances clearance.

Responding to customer feedback, the all-new GX now comes with a standard power rear lift door, featuring a pop-out window and an available kick sensor for hands-free convenience, which replaces the outgoing GX’s intrusive swinging rear door.

Inside, the all-new GX has a driver-focused cockpit design, which is somewhat taken from the all-new RX, along with an available color head-up display.
