Often, a multi-purpose automotive detailer or cleaning product is good at cleaning one type of surface being your exterior painted surfaces and fails to do well with other types of surfaces. Those “other” types of surfaces may be your unpainted trim, your plastic trim around your wheel wells, or even the plastic grille and headlight lenses on some vehicles. Factually, there are not many products that can tout the ability to be nearly equally effective on multiple surfaces.
To put it fairly, there are countless cleaning and sealing/protecting products on the market. More than we would like to count. What we do know, in the realm of a couple of handfuls of products that we’ve used over the years, there are only a couple that proves to be versatile to use on multiple surfaces to clean, seal, and protect such surfaces – and one of them is TopCoat F11.
TopCoat F11 has been something we’ve used over many years and we admittingly move away from TopCoat F11 for a while trying out many other products, some with good results on certain surfaces, but have since moved back to TopCoat F11 due to many reasons. Visit our TopCoat Store to find the best detailing product for your car, boat, RV, or motorcycle.
One of the main reasons for choosing TopCoat F11 in recent years for our vehicle quick detailing and surface protectant is because some of us here at the Automotive Addicts are lazy in our approach of cleaning countless press vehicles. Though, we’re not lazy in the sense that you may think – we do take pride in everything that we do, it’s just that we get a couple of vehicles in each week to review and test drive and the thought of keeping them clean through the duration of a week or two is tiring being that we often leave them outside in the elements and they get dirty within a day or two if they are not “protected”.
Using wax to keep our press vehicles clean is out of the question because that’s just way too much work for vehicles that we don’t keep very long. Using ‘quick detailer’ products is a repetitive process that we must perform almost every day if we want to keep a test vehicle clean. We need something that we can spray on, wipe down, and lightly buff out to “protect” our press vehicles, so they stay cleaner longer. The product that we’ve had the most success with is TopCoat F11, which we’ve noticed only requires us to apply one coat for the duration of a week or two weeks of testing our press vehicles. Not to mention, the application is using only one product, TopCoat F11, on ALL surfaces of our test vehicles. This means we can apply it to the huge trucks that we get in with their large plastic fenders, and we get to use it on plastic bumpers, windshields, windows, wheels, door trim, headlights, taillights, rubber door seals, everything!
TopCoat F11 is a multi-use multi-application polish and sealer. While it may be marketed as a polish and sealer, it does have some elements of cleaning a surface that may have been treated previously or one that is not full of grime, debris, or plane dirt. F11 is extremely water-resistant and hydrophobic where water beads up and runs off treated surfaces. Basically, you could use F11 to treat your windshield and limit the use of your wipers when you’re driving through rainstorms – trust us, we’ve tried it!
F11 is environmentally friendly, too. TopCoat F11 is water-based and does not utilize any harsh chemicals that may pose a risk to children and pets. That means there is no risk of run-off polluting the environment, staining your driveway, or leaving a nasty residue.
Without worrying about where TopCoat F11 gets sprayed and wiped down, our precious time is saved and we can focus on taking photos of our CLEAN fleet of test vehicles, in addition to spending quality time testing out the vehicle to give YOU our findings in our extensive test drive review posts.
