If there is a single “cars and guitars” weekend in central Florida, it would be the second to last one in January. The Mecum Auctions Kissimmee is reaching a fever pitch after a week of selling classic cars, in what amounts to the largest collector car auction in the world. Just up the road, actually just up the interstate and a few miscellaneous roads, the Orlando International Guitar and Music Expo is simultaneously celebrating the 28th year of selling, swapping, and buying instruments and musical collectibles at the Orlando Florida Fairgrounds.
Toyota brought the Automotive Addicts team to Orlando for a couple days to the Mecum Auction to watch a glorious 1967 Toyota 2000GT be offered at auction, which was a treat in itself. Of course, being the Cars & Guitars nut that I am, I had to stop by the Orlando International Guitar and Music Expo on the way home.
Also, don’t forget that you can get discounted new car pricing with a free quote through qualified local dealer partners.
Thanks to Morty Beckman of the Guitar Expo for being a gracious host and thanks to the vendors who brought out so many pricey and a priceless instrument or two to the event.
Enjoy the photos!
