I am not a monster truck kind of guy. It isn’t that I don’t admire them or need them on occasion, but I simply haven’t spent much time behind the wheel of any of them. All of my neighbors have them, literally all of them. They are work trucks, they are typically reliable and completely indispensable.

When I received the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD 4WD LTZ Crew Cab, I couldn’t wait to see what “owning” one of these mammoth vehicles would be like. What is it that gets in the blood of “truck guys”?
Chevy’s beautiful new pickup came equipped with the legendary Duramax 6.6L V8 turbo-diesel and Allison 6-speed automatic transmission; providing the truck with 397 horsepower and an almost unbelievable 765 lbs-ft or torque, enough power to tow up to 17,900 lbs.
The 2015 Silverado is seemingly unstoppable. The Z71 off-road package, complete with monotube Rancho shocks, underbody shields, and hill descent control, combined with the powerful drive train and 9.72 inches of ground clearance allows you to take the Z71 just about anywhere. The 76.3 cubic foot cargo bed with optional spray-on liner and standard EZ lift and lower tailgate means that you can take pretty much anything you want with you on your journey.
The 2015 Silverado is a vehicle of mammoth proportions and power, but Chevy’s pickup is not a clumsy brute. The interior is incredibly spacious and well appointed. The leather seating is comfortable, and the 40.93 inches of rear legroom is more akin to your living room than a vehicle seating area. The optional Chevrolet Mylink audio system with 8-inch color touch display and navigation is easy to use and sounds wonderful. The 2015 Silverado 2500 really is a truck that you can take to work on Friday and haul just about anything, then take it home, give it a bath and be ready for date night, even if date night includes the kids.
Sure driving the Silverado takes getting used to. Parking can almost be comical, even when you find the perfect space it tends to be yards from your destination. Thankfully Chevy has installed an amazing rear-view camera and parking collision warning system that takes away most of the guess work. Getting into the rig is also a challenge for some, but the side step and convenient handle makes it fairly easy work for most. But I get it, I understand the passion. The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD 4WD LTZ Crew Cab is an amazing vehicle with a lot to offer.
The Standard 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4WD LTZ Crew Cab starts at $48,130.00. The as tested vehicle with Duramax 6.0L V8 Turbo-Diesel, Allison 6-Speed automatic transmission and LTZ plus package retails at $62,925.00
