Aston Martin Unleashes the 2026 Vanquish Volante with V-12 Power and Drop Top Eloquence

Aston Martin is leaning hard into old-school grand touring glory, and the latest proof comes without a roof. Meet the 2026 Vanquish Volante—the open-top version of the brand’s stunning flagship coupe. It’s everything we loved about the new Vanquish, just with more sky and even more drama.

Let’s cut straight to the heart of it: Aston hasn’t changed a single bolt on the powertrain. That means the 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V-12 still snarls with 824 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, all sent to the rear wheels through a crisp-shifting ZF eight-speed automatic. And yes, it’s still the most powerful front-engined production car you can buy. Convertible or not, it’s capable of 214 mph, just like the coupe.

Also, don’t forget that you can get discounted new car pricing with a free quote through qualified local dealer partners.

The only tradeoff? A bit more weight and a couple tenths on the stopwatch. The Volante adds around 209 pounds, thanks to structural reinforcements and the folding roof hardware. As a result, the 0–62 mph run now takes 3.4 seconds—two ticks slower than the hardtop. But let’s be honest, you’re not buying a Vanquish Volante to chase tenths at the drag strip. You’re buying it for the experience—and what an experience it is.

Aston Martin says the open-top Vanquish maintains “near-coupe levels” of chassis stiffness, though they don’t spill all the technical secrets. What we do know is that it features Volante-specific suspension tuning to complement the Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers. It stops with authority thanks to carbon ceramic brakes—six-piston units up front, four-piston out back—and rolls on staggered 21-inch Pirelli P Zeros.

The roof itself is a K-fold fabric setup that opens in 14 seconds and can be operated at speeds up to 31 mph. Closing it takes 16 seconds. But unless you’re dodging a downpour, why would you ever cover up the V-12’s soundtrack—especially with the optional titanium exhaust fitted?

Inside, it’s business as usual. Two crisp 10.25-inch displays—one for the driver, one for infotainment—anchor a cabin that mixes high-end materials with unmistakable Aston style. The only functional change from the coupe is a button to control the soft top.

Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark sums it up best: “For 60 years, Aston Martin Volantes have defined the art of elegant, sporting, open-top motoring. With its stunning looks and outstanding V-12 engine producing more power than any other front-engine production car on sale, Vanquish Volante has taken this philosophy to an entirely new level.”

No pricing has been confirmed yet, but expect the Volante to command a premium over the $434,000 Vanquish coupe. Production begins in Q3 of 2025, with Aston Martin limiting output to fewer than 1,000 units per year.

For those who believe that grand touring should be equal parts elegance, power, and drama, the Vanquish Volante is shaping up to be one of the most desirable convertibles of the modern era.
