Aston Martin has officially unveiled full details of the highly anticipated Valhalla, its first series-production mid-engined hybrid supercar. Designed to push the boundaries of performance, technology, and luxury, the Valhalla marks a monumental step for the iconic British marque. Powertrain

The Valhalla’s hybrid powertrain delivers a staggering 1,079PS (1,064 hp) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) of torque, making it one of the most powerful vehicles Aston Martin has ever produced. Central to this setup is a bespoke 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-plane crank V8 engine producing 828PS (819 hp), the most powerful V8 the brand has ever fitted to a production car.

This internal combustion engine (ICE) is paired with three electric motors: two on the front axle and one integrated into the all-new 8-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT). The electric motors contribute an additional 251PS (247 hp), enabling electric-only front-wheel-drive mode, regenerative braking, and dynamic torque vectoring.

The Valhalla is capable of blistering performance figures:

  • 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 2.5 seconds
  • A top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph)

Despite its raw power, the Valhalla boasts a pure EV mode for city driving, offering 14 km (9 miles) of electric-only range at speeds up to 140 km/h (87 mph).

F1-Inspired Chassis and Aerodynamics

At the core of the Valhalla is a bespoke carbon-fiber monocoque that keeps weight to a minimum while maximizing structural rigidity. The car achieves a dry weight of 1,655 kg (3,648 lbs), giving it an exceptional power-to-weight ratio of 652PS per ton.

The Valhalla’s aerodynamics, developed in collaboration with Aston Martin’s Formula 1® team, generate over 600 kg (1,322 lbs) of downforce at speeds above 240 km/h (149 mph). Key innovations include:

  • Active front and rear aerodynamics that adjust based on speed and driving mode, reducing drag or increasing downforce as needed.
  • A concealed active front wing that shifts airflow for optimized downforce.
  • A rear T-wing that deploys hydraulically in Race mode for maximum downforce and doubles as an air brake during heavy braking.

This level of aerodynamic precision ensures supreme stability at high speeds and remarkable cornering capability on track.

Driver-Focused Dynamics

The Valhalla’s engineering is designed to deliver a truly immersive driving experience. Its Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control (IVC) system harmonizes suspension, braking, steering, and aerodynamics, giving drivers seamless control across road and track environments.

Four drive modes—Pure EV, Sport, Sport+, and Race—allow the Valhalla to adapt to various driving scenarios. In Race mode, the car maximizes its aerodynamics, stiffens its suspension, and prioritizes performance. The Formula One®-style pushrod front suspension and Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers ensure precision handling and comfort, while the brake-by-wire system with carbon ceramic brakes delivers unmatched stopping power.

A cutting-edge torque vectoring system uses the front electric motors to independently distribute power, enhancing agility and cornering precision. Meanwhile, the rear wheels benefit from an electronic limited-slip differential (E-diff) for optimal traction and stability.

Design: Function Meets Beauty

The Valhalla’s design is a testament to Aston Martin’s commitment to elegance and performance. The sleek carbon-fiber body is aerodynamically sculpted, with dramatic forward-hinged dihedral doors adding theater while easing ingress and egress. The roof-mounted F1-inspired snorkel directs airflow to the V8 engine and intercoolers, enhancing cooling efficiency.

The quad exhaust system, with top-mounted and rear-mounted tailpipes, not only optimizes performance but also creates an exhilarating soundtrack. The rear design is dominated by massive venturi tunnels that extract air from under the car to boost downforce and stability.

Customers can opt for exposed carbon fiber finishes or bespoke paint options, including motorsport-inspired livery themes. The magnesium wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires save 12 kg (26 lbs) of unsprung mass for track-focused performance.

Interior: A Race-Inspired Luxury Cockpit

The Valhalla’s interior blends Formula One® influences with Aston Martin’s signature craftsmanship. The minimalist cabin features carbon-fiber seats, a low hip-to-heel driving position, and a steering wheel inspired by F1 design. The cockpit wraps around the driver with an “amphitheater” layout, immersing them in the driving experience.

The high-tech HMI system includes a column-mounted digital display and a central touchscreen with unique hybrid visuals, such as a drivetrain energy flow diagram. The Race mode layout displays critical information like shift lights and a linear tachometer.

Customization options are nearly endless through Aston Martin’s Q division, allowing buyers to create a truly bespoke Valhalla.
