Volkswagen’s iconic microbus has finally made its return in the form of the 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz, an electric vehicle that promises to blend nostalgia with modern technology. However, this long-awaited return comes with a price that may surprise many enthusiasts.

The starting price for the 2025 ID. Buzz is set at $59,995, not including the additional $1,550 destination fee. This entry-level Pro S model features rear-wheel drive powered by a single electric motor and accommodates up to seven passengers. While it may be the base model, it’s far from basic. The Pro S comes equipped with a host of features including a 12.9-inch infotainment display, a 5.3-inch digital driver display, three-zone climate control, and luxurious 12-way power front seats with both heating and ventilation, plus massage functions. The model rolls on 20-inch wheels and offers three classic color choices: white, black, or silver.

Also, don’t forget that you can get discounted new car pricing with a free quote through qualified local dealer partners.

Stepping up to the Pro S Plus trim, buyers can expect to pay $65,045 for the rear-wheel-drive version or $69,545 for the all-wheel-drive variant. This upgrade introduces eight vibrant two-tone exterior color options, a premium 700-watt stereo system, a power tailgate, and a panoramic roof. Additionally, it features a heads-up display, further enhancing the driving experience.

For those wanting to be among the first to own this electrified legend, the 1st Edition model is available for $71,545 with AWD. This top-tier trim not only includes all the features of the Pro S Plus but also offers exclusive badging, unique paint options, and special wheels. If all-wheel drive isn’t a necessity, you can opt for the rear-wheel-drive version and save $4,500.

Volkswagen also revealed new interior color themes for the ID. Buzz, including a lighter Copper shade, a darker Moonlight tone, and a stylish white/copper two-tone option called Dune. As for range, the ID. Buzz offers EPA-estimated figures that may seem modest compared to other EVs. The rear-wheel-drive model is rated for 234 miles per charge, while the AWD variant offers a slightly lower range of 231 miles.

The 1st Edition will be the first version to hit U.S. dealerships, expected by the end of this year. With its blend of classic design and cutting-edge technology, the ID. Buzz is sure to capture attention, but its price point may require a second look for those hoping to relive the microbus magic.
